Ligaments of Faith - Introduction

Faith!!

One of the most common words in the Christian Etymology, its usage is often utilized in an attempt to receive from God and some to actually draw near to God. However, we need to understand how, why and when Faith comes into the picture in our daily living, the church and governmental institute of the Church.

In rebuking the religious leaders Jesus said  in Matthew 23:23:

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

He describes three elements as a significant subject in true religious  practice(Judgement, mercy and faith) of which Faith was one . This tells us  it's possible for a  believer to omit these elements of true religion that the Lord requires of us to possess and render as a lifestyle.

My focus is on the emphasis of Faith, Why Jesus emphasized  in  different contexts, how he demonstrated faith and how it is  built up, I often Express these building blocks as ligaments of Faith.  Faith though common and considered an elementary doctrine, it is  often  not perceived as a weighty matter even though it serves as a  fundamental for how a Christian believer should be built up and is a stepping stone in drawing near to and pleasing God.

Yet many Believers still misplace its components and find themselves drowning  in disbelief.

These components are the connecting elements that bind believers together in the Body of Christ. Faith does not float in isolation; it is held together by things unseen and often unspoken. One of those things is knowledge. Knowledge, I have come to see, is not opposed to faith, it is its ligament. It binds, supports, and gives structure to belief.

 Paul's  sincere prayers says it well to the colossians in Colossians 1:9-10

For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

A believer  full of faith has a walking principle designed by God, Paul's prayer and desire was that these ones should be filled with the Knowledge of God in his will , that they may walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing. This is how a person full of faith walks guided and empowered by Knowledge. knowledge is the enabling force that propels one into a walk of faithfulness, fruitfulness and justly before God.

To have an accurate faith walk , we must commit  to pursuing knowledge all our lives .

As it is written in Proverbs 2:3-6

Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, And liftest up thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her as silver, And searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, And find the knowledge of God. For the LORD giveth wisdom: Out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

In response to this scripture , I once read that seeking knowledge leads to a deeper understanding of God, knowledge and faith walk together as it is a divine gift that builds spiritual strength. The essence of God revealing himself through  knowledge is to establish us deeply in his will and to strengthen our faith in him.

We have a responsibility as believers to increase our faith through knowledge in daily seeking through the word of God and his laws, when you live as a man of faith , you become Just , a person  whose total reliance is on God.

Shalom 🙏
